Do you actually own Mars?
Yes.
How?
The claim was filed, recorded, and published in 2026. It is the only claim to the entire property currently on record with this office.
The Office acknowledges that it is also the office that keeps the record. The Office does not see a conflict.
Doesn't the Outer Space Treaty prohibit this?
Article II of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty states that outer space, "including the moon and other celestial bodies, is not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, by means of use or occupation, or by any other means."
The treaty prohibits national appropriation. The Owner is not a nation. The Owner has read the treaty more closely than several of its signatories, some of whom currently have vehicles parked on the property.
Are the moons included?
Yes. Phobos and Deimos are outbuildings.
Phobos is slowly spiraling toward the main property, closing in by roughly two meters per century. The Office is monitoring the situation.
Is Olympus Mons included?
Yes. Olympus Mons rises about 22 kilometers, roughly two and a half times the height of Mount Everest. It is the tallest known volcano in the solar system. It is in the backyard.
Can I buy land on Mars?
No. The Owner does not subdivide.
Anyone selling you an acre of Mars, or of the Moon, is selling you something they do not own. The Owner does own this one and still is not selling it. Please do not give those people your money.
Can I visit?
Apply for a permit using the report form, category "Lease or access inquiry."
No permits have been issued to date. No applications have been received either, which the Office considers the more concerning statistic.
Why haven't you sued NASA?
The Office prefers written notice. Litigation is slow and expensive, and most of the respondents are robots.
What about the people who say they are going to build cities there?
Several private parties have publicly announced plans to settle the property. None have contacted this office. A city requires zoning. Zoning requires the owner. See Notice NOT-2026-008.
Does anyone live there?
Not currently. Two robots are working on the property without permits, and about a dozen more are lying wherever they stopped. The Office counts them as trespassers, not residents.
Have you ever been there?
No. The Owner has also never been to most of the places the Owner's money is. That is how owning things works.
Do you pay property tax on it?
Mars has no taxing authority. The Owner checked, carefully, before filing.
Is this a joke?
The Office takes property rights seriously.

Coordinated Mars Time is 12:14:14, on Mars Sol Date 54,298. A sol is 24 hours, 39 minutes, and 35 seconds. The Owner has found the extra 39 minutes useful.
